Alda, Cristina, Idoia and Juan are the four members of the “Etxelaia team”. We each originate from different professional fields but we are all focused on the same ultimate goal: to make Etxelaia the benchmark for quality in luxury villas for holiday lets and event organisation.
ALDA
After more than 25 years experience in international tourism and having lived in several continents I finally found my adoptive home in the Basque Country, in Gautegiz Arteaga.
As the “Dutch girl” of the group, it is an honour for me to show Etxalaia guests something of the culture, nature and traditions of the surroundings of the place I have chosen to live. I am passionate about the possibilities Etxelaia offers as a holiday home, or a place to organise social and corporate events. I am in charge of customer care and contacting different stakeholders who can add value to Etxelaia.

CRISTINA
I have far-ranging experience in developing business and marketing strategies in the airline, hotel and catering and receptive tourism sectors.
Recently I decided to embark upon a new stage in my professional life collaborating with different clients in the tourist sector. Etxalaia provide me with the opportunity of being part of a really exciting project right from the outset and is the perfect place from which to showcase my homeland, the Basque Country. I am in charge of sales at Etxelaia both for the accommodation and events side of the business.

IDOIA
I started my professional life in the administrative-financial world. Many years later I decided to change tack and concentrate on interior design and decoration.
I am enthusiastic and enterprising and enjoy new challenges. This is one of them. When Juan entrusted us with the interior design of Etxelaia I never imagined I would end up involved in managing the project, but the vision and human touch of the team got me hooked! I believe in Etxelaia and I am working towards consolidating it as a successful business proposition in a unique environment. I am in charge of the day-to-day running of things and making sure that everything is always ready.

JUAN
My professional life has always been in the field of business communication, in areas far removed from what this project represents.
But the family ties I have with the house means that Etxelaia for me is a personal and sentimental challenge. I sincerely enjoy getting enthusiastic with what I do and surrounding myself with excellent professionals and good people from whom I can learn and grow. Etxalaia offers me this and much more – the unique surroundings of Gautegiz Arteaga and Urdaibai, which we want to help develop. I am in charge of the project’s overall management.
